P90X Lean Program- Jan. 23- Apr. 23 2012

Yes, we have been here before. No, we weren't able to complete the program. Why? We allowed life to get in the way. Plus, I don't think our hearts were fully committed.

Last night began our 90-Day Lean Program. We did P90X Core Synergistics. I pushed! I sweated. I was proud of myself.

The other day my husband showed me a P90X video that got him inspired.

We've watched it a few times. He even put it on after our workout last night.

Here's to the next 89 days!

Current Weight: 129.6
Goal Weight: 120

Tonight's Workout: Insanity Pure Cardio (We're swapping out the cardio workouts with Insanity.)

The Journey Begins... Again

The time has finally come for my husband and me to get serious about this thing called FITNESS. He and I are both tired of our bodies not having the any resemblance of our younger, fit, thin selves. Not that we need to go back to what was in reality, skinny, but it would be nice to have a toned physique.

So today was the beginning! We’re gonna do it! No matter what! Insanity, here we come!

My beginning stats:
Weight: 132.8 lbs
Body Fat: 23 %

No, I’m not posting photos. Don’t know if I want to take any. I really should though. I’m sure that after it’s all said and done I’ll want to compare my progress.

So here’s to no more “Mommy Belly”. It’s time to tighten this thing up.

Lord, have mercy! It’s time to “Dig deeper.”

Today’s work out: Insanity Pure Cardio

Week 1 Complete!

So here we are. My husband and I have completed our first week of Insanity. And after careful deliberation, we feel that we enjoyed P90X more. So we’ve decided to make a hybrid version of our workout program.

Sometime you’ve got to “take the best and leave the rest”, right?

There is no denying the sweat factor and heart racing abilities of Insanity. Heck, the warm-up alone it an intense workout! And there is no denying the full-body attention Tony Horton gives in the P90X programs. Head to toe “taking care of our bodies”. It truly is a full body program. However, it leaves something to be desired in the cardio department.

This is where the combination for us is perfect! P90X’s program swapping out Cardio X and Kenpo X for Insanity’s Pure Cardio. For us, it’s quite beautiful.

So today’s Sunday and we’re taking a much needed rest. My body is sore, I feel worked out, and I dread what lies ahead for me tomorrow.

But I’m excited to see what happens over these next couple of weeks. I can’t wait to see the transformation.

Moment of truth… do I want to get up at the crack of dawn (5 – 5:30 a.m.) everyday to work out?! NO!!! But it’s what I’ve gotta do. Do I wish everyday that my husband will decide to sleep in? ABSOLUTELY! I can admit that I don’t want to do this. But I recognize that deep down I do and I need to. So, I may grumble, whine, pout, and have an attitude, but I’m gonna get it done.

WEEK 1 COMPLETE!

Just Sad...

So today my husband finally got me to do my first work out in over a year. I know my page is called "The "X" In Me", but we did Insanity "Pure Cardio".

Needless to say, I couldn't even get through the warm-up. So sad. I am so absolutely outta shape. The cheerleader that he is, he said, "It's ok, babe. Just make a mental note of what you've completed and two to three weeks from now you'll be much better. Maybe even able to finish the entire workout."

Well, here's to Day 1 of getting myself back into shape.

P90X Lean Phase 1- COMPLETE

YES!!!

I am proud to announce that today will complete Phase 1 of the P90X Lean program. This is the first time in my life that I've been consistent with anything for this long. I'll be honest and say that I don't think I could've done it without my workout partner- my husband. We've really encouraged and supported each other through this process.

I'm happy to announce that I am seeing results/change, however slight. My fat rolls aren't so big, starting to see muscle where there was none, my flexibility has really improved. Plus, I can do three pull-ups! When we started I could only do one.

We forgot to take Before shots when we started. Tonight I will brave the camera and take my 30-day shots. No, I will not be posting them. At least not now. Maybe after it's all said and done I'll be brave enough to post them alongside my 90-day pictures, of course. ;-)

So here's to doing my best and forgetting the rest. Cheers!
